Recycled Record Clock

This is a fun clock made from a recycled record. I've hand painted it with acrylics and sealed it with a thick coat of polyurethane. I've played with this idea before - and I've had two of these clocks up on my etsy account at one time. Some of you might remember that - I don't know. It's been quite a while now. Expect more in the future since I've been getting more into the painting scene. :) I will continue them if I get good feedback and such.

My mother-in-law got me one of those sets where you have paints, colored pencils, and some small canvases for Christmas. It came with four 4x6 inch canvases - so I decided to paint this this morning. I have it up for sale on my etsy website for 15 dollars. :)

We were supposed to have a Christmas party for my family at my house today, but it was cancelled due to the snow. It's still snowing like crazy out there!! Brrr. Kind of enjoying the quiet day though - but It's going to kind of suck having to reschedule the party. :(

Oh well, we shall see what happens. :) How is everyone doing on their Christmas shopping?! I feel like I will never be done. :(

Things have been crazy over at my house. My husband and I have been trying to get the house "presentable" for a christmas party we are having for my family this weekend. For those of you who don't already know, we are completely remodelling our house.. so it's pretty crazy! I will have to post some updated photos for you all soon. :) It's been awhile since I've showed you whats been going on! We're hoping to go get a couch either Friday night or Saturday morning before the party. We have a small loveseat in the garage, but that is certainly not enough to hold all the people it needs to hold. We gave our old couches back to a friend who let us "borrow" them for a few months. :)

I am working on another animal painting now,. a snake for a little boys room... so hopefully you guys will get to see that in the near future, too. Just wish I had more time to work on it.. :(

We had an extremely busy, but extremely productive and fun weekend/holiday.

On Thanksgiving, Curtis and I actually painted our kitchen in the morning until it was time to leave to head over to his Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner. We ate there - and probably spent two or three hours there - and then stopped over at my sisters for about an hour. We were stuffed, so we didn't have any food really there. I tasted a few things, but I don't think Curtis had room for anything. Curtis' grandparents always have something at their house in the evening, so after we left my sisters we went up there for ham and deserts. I'm not used to busy holidays because my family always stayed in one spot pretty much and it was always really calm - now that I have two different families to visit, it's kind of chaotic. I miss the easy going holiday, but I'm slowly getting used to it.

Friday and Saturday we got the chance to visit with one of our best friends who moved up to New York. He was back for a few days for Thanksgiving. :) I was so glad to see him, and we had a ton of fun while he was around. Wish he would move back home. :( Here are some pictures if you're interested:

So, my vacation has finally begun. Curtis and I were supposed to be going to the beach today, tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday.. but because of money we decided to stay home. I'm kind of happy. We will be saving so much money, and we will get a lot more done. I get paid with vacation hours, so it's not a big deal that I will still have off work. I have off the rest of this week plus Monday and Tuesday next week. Mom and I have plans those days though - and Curtis will be back at work those days also.

My husband reads my journal frequently, so I thought I'd post a little something for him tonight while he's downstairs working. His parents are over tonight helping. I figure since they are here tonight, I'll work on some things upstairs. When you get too many people working at once, we just stand around wondering what to do next - so I'd rather be getting stuff upstairs done.

Curtis, you've made my dreams come true in a husband. I couldn't ask for anyone more caring, smart, or loving then you are. I knew from the first couple weeks of dating you (way back in January of 2006) that you were someone special. Someone that I wouldn't ever be able to let go of. You were so patient with me in those times - I know it was hard for you dealing with me the way I was back then. You changed me for the better and you got me through a really rough time in my life. To this day, I can't stop thanking you for that. We're nearing our first year anniversary already - and this year has flew by! It's been the best year of my life, though. Even though all the construction and being busy. I absolutely love living on our own... doing things the way we want to do them. I love making decisions with you. We will make this our dream house, and I know that. When it's all over, we will finally be able to relax and enjoy our home. I appreciate all the work you're doing right now - I know it's not easy on you - and I know you're exhausted. I love the days when we can just "take a break" and lay around doing absolutely nothing together. I just love being with you. I love you, baby..
